COBOS MALBEC 2007, MENDOZA
Cobos is a project owned by famous American winemaker Paul Hobbs, Andrea Marchiori and Luis Barraud The three of them have created a Real Superstar and Wine of International Recognition. The grapes come from a parcel of vines over 50 years old, in the district of Perdriel. They are very small and have high fruit concentration with expressive and complex aromas, deep color and intensity. Aged in 100% new French oak barrels for 18 months with excellent structure, body, finesse and complexity. FELINO CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2008, MENDOZA
It is a blend of 92% Cabernet Sauvignon 4% Merlot 4% Cabernet Franc. It has spent 8 months in French and American oak barrels with 19% being new. Deep purple-blue ink in color with aromas of blackberries, cassis, spice, ripe plums and cocoa displaying dense and meaty tannins with subtle mineral notes, and good balance of alcohol and acidity with profound fruit extraction and a 45-second finish. FELINO MALBEC 2008, MENDOZA

This wine is a Real Bargain given the price, so I would really suggest buying 6 or 12 of these magnificent bottles! This is a blend of 91% Malbec 6% Cabernet Sauvignon 3% Syrah and the wine has spent 8 months in French and American oak barrels with 22% being new. It has aromas of black and red fruits with sensual nuances of leather, spice and hints of chocolate. Extremely Opulent, seductive and fruity with juicy tannins and exotic notes of ginger and white pepper come through on the palate to mingle with firm tannins and notes of oak on the finish. This magnificent wine is a blend of 70% Malbec 10% Cabernet Sauvignon 9% Syrah 7% Merlot 4% Petit Verdot and it is ruby red in color with spicy notes due to excellent use of new French oak barrels where the wine spent 15 months maturing with 50% being new. ALMA NEGRA SPARKLING 2008, MENDOZA
Ernesto Catena has produced a very good alternative to French champagne. This “Espumante” is made only with Chardonnay and has aromas of ripe green apples, lemons and green citrus fruits with notes of lemon peel. It has a very fresh elegant acidity and the wine has been allowed to sit on its lees for 12 months with wonderful biscuity and toasty aromas and a long lingering crisp citrus finish. Ernesto Catena is the mastermind behind this blockbuster of a wine. The aromas at first display notes of ripe black fruits like blackberries, blueberries, mulberries and sweet spice, but after enough exposure to air the aromas become more complex. The palate is supreme with a multitude of different flavors with good structure and body and soft delicate tannins – this is rounded off with impeccable use of French oak where 60% was new. Ernesto Catena has done an amazing job with this mysterious superstar. The varietals have not been revealed, but we do know that it is part of a blend and sourced from different vineyards in Mendoza. It is deep ruby red in color with purple hues and with aromas of deep dark black fruits and sweet spice with complex overtones. Ernesto Catena is the son of renowned winemaker Nicolas Catena Zapata – this wine is 100% Syrah. It is deep ruby red in color with aromas of black fruits, warm spice, black pepper with hints of liquorice and black pepper.
