CHÂTEAU CALON-SEGUR 2000, ST. ESTEPHE, FRANCE

It is a blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon 20% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc.
The wines are matured in barrels for 18 months with 40% being new. It is ruby red in color with a garnet edge and has tremendous aromatic complexity, and intensity of flavor with black fruits, red plums, cedar, leather, cassis and earthy notes. Continue reading

It is a blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot and fermented for 18 months in French oak barrels with 50% being new. It is very complex, elegant, stylish with profound power and weight. The fruit displays multilayers of ripe seductive fruit with a soft, rounded texture that is immediately noticeable on the palate with great depth, density and very good level of acidity. 2005 was an exceptional year, one of the best in Bordeaux, and this is evident with the tannins that are highly structured, pleasant and enjoyable. CHÂTEAU KIRWAN 2003, MARGAUX, FRANCE

This wine is a blend of 40% Cabernet Sauvignon 30% Merlot 20% Cabernet Franc 10% Petit Verdot. It spent 22 months in French oak barrels with 60% being new. It is very dense brick red in color with aromas of complex forest fruits, black plums, cedar, leather, licorice, cassis and spice. It is medium-full bodied with excellent extraction of fruit and color and perfect balance between acidity and alcohol reacts beautifully in the mouth releasing even more esters, and is rounded off with ripe sweet tannins. CLOS DE L’ORATOIRE 2005, GRAND CRU CLASSE, ST. EMILION

This wine is a blend of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc showing notes of cedar, leather, red plums, sweet spice, white pepper, coffee and very good extraction of fruit and color. The wine is dense, structured, complex and medium to full bodied on the palate displaying ripe tannins accompanied by sublime fruit and excellent acidity.
